Being of the Same Mind (2)

Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We continue looking at Philippians 2v2 (AMPC) where Paul encouraged the Philippians saying “Fill up and complete my joy by living in harmony and being of the same mind and one in purpose, having the same love, being in full accord and of one harmonious mind and intention.” We discussed that while it can be hard for people to be of the same mind, as believers, we have the Spirit of Christ, and the Word of God, and as we look into it, we are being changed from the inside out into the image of Christ. Imagine, we all are reading from the same book, guide, and manual, and are open to being changed, we will find that we are being transformed.

Romans 12v1-2 (AMPC) says “I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Amen. God’s ideal and standards are different from that of the world, or even that which we think is right for ourselves. It takes us submitting to Him and to His tutelage and guidance to be transformed. Synonyms of transform include alter, convert, renovate, and change. Imagine all of that having to happen to your mind. As we believers begin to have our minds transformed, we will be able to live in harmony, and have the same mind, purpose, and love, be in full accord and of one harmonious mind and intention. Amen.

Prayer

Father, we thank You for this day. We thank You for Your goodness and Your grace. We yield to Your Spirit and we thank You that as we continue to behold Your glory in the Word of God, we will be changed and transformed into the image of Christ. That we will indeed bring glory to God as we walk with the same mind, purpose and in harmony in Jesus name, amen.
