Don’t be Afraid
Dearly beloved, I trust this finds you well and
bubbling in the Lord. God does not want us to be afraid of anything. He tells
us in Isaiah 41v10 (NLT) says “Don’t be afraid, for I am with
you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help
you. I
will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Amen. God will also not have us be afraid of our
opponents or adversaries. In Philippians 1v29
(AMPC), Paul wrote to the Philippians “And
do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything
by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and
fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their
impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation,
and that from God.”
As children of God, we also find that God has given us
a Spirit that is not one of fear. 2 Timothy 1v7 (AMPC) says that “For
God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing
and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of
calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” There is therefore no need to be afraid of anyone or
anything. On our own, we can do nothing, but with the Spirit of God, with the
strength of God, with the power and peace of God, we can stand strong and
unafraid. Be strengthened in your union
with God.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your goodness and for Your
Spirit in us and with us. We thank You for You are our God and we have no need
to be afraid. We stand strong in You and in the power of Your might. We declare
we aren’t afraid of anyone, of our adversaries or opponents. Thank You for Your
goodness and grace, in Jesus name, amen.
