Beware (2)
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We continue looking at the word ‘Beware’ and instances in which it was used in the Bible. Now, Deuteronomy 6v10-16 (KJV) says “And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; (For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.”
Beloved, the text above shows Moses telling the
Israelites that the Lord will do that which He has promised to do, but for you
Israelites, be careful, beware that you do not forget the Lord. The narrative
goes that when people are facing a lot of challenges and troubles, they tend to
remember God, but when they believe that all is well, then God is forgotten.
Child of God, beware that you do not forget God at any time. God is always
thinking about us, He doesn’t forget us, His thoughts towards us are numerous.
We too should serve Him with gladness, at all times, and remember Him always.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for this day which You
have made that we can rejoice and be glad in. Thank You for the breath of life.
Thank You for thinking of us always. O God, we pray, in anyway we have
neglected You or taken You for granted, please have mercy on us, and forgive
us. Help us always to remember You, remember Your works and know that are
relationship with You should never be compromised. All this we pray in Jesus
name, amen.
