Knowledge
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every
effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution,
Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge
(intelligence),” 2 Peter 1v5 (AMP)
One
of the major things that believers are encouraged to do is to develop
knowledge. There is so much we do not know yet have access to through the Word
of God and by His understanding. Yet our God tells us that we can have this
knowledge by asking Him; Jeremiah 33v3 (AMP) saying “Call to Me and I will
answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which
you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and
understand).” We need knowledge so we are not ignorant and destroyed. Hosea 4v6
(KJV) tells us “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou
hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest
to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of God, I will also forget thy
children.” In Romans 10v2 (AMP), the apostle Paul writes of how he wants Israel
to be saved but that “I bear them witness that they have a [certain] zeal and
enthusiasm for God, but it is not enlightened and according to [correct and
vital] knowledge.” We need knowledge – correct and vital knowledge, and we can
have it:
Supplementary Text
“Yes,
if you want better insight and discernment, and are searching for them as you
would for lost money or hidden treasure, then wisdom will be given you and
knowledge of God Himself; you will soon learn the importance of reverence for
the Lord and of trusting Him. For the Lord grants wisdom! His every word is a
treasure of knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2v3-6 (TLB)
Prayer
Father
we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for the vast amount of knowledge that
we can have. We pray that You Father of glory, will give unto us a spirit of
wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and
intimate] knowledge of You, By having the eyes of our hearts flooded with
light, so that we can know and understand the hope to which You have called us
in Jesus name, amen.
