Pentecost

Primary Text

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Acts 2v1-4

One way in which God helps His children is through the Holy Spirit. John 14v16 (AMP) says “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever – “ When in need of counselor, comfort, help, advocacy, intercession, strength, someone to stand by you, the Holy Spirit is there to provide all of this. For the empowerment of the church, the Holy Spirit is there, as we see on the day of Pentecost. When we cry out to God for His precious Holy Spirit, when we are in need of the leading, direction, dominion power of God, His anointing, His changing power, the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control), all we need do is to ask for it. For He has said in His Word:

“So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!” Luke 11v9-13 (AMP)

Prayer

Father, we thank You for Your Precious Holy Spirit. We ask for a fresh anointing this day. We ask that You fill us to overflowing with Your Spirit. We pray that we will live a life of dominion over self and given to the service of others. Holy Spirit of God we yield to You and ask that You have Your way in Jesus name, amen.
