Our love for Him
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day?
Primary Text
“The
one who obeys Me is the one who loves Me; and because he loved Me, My Father
will love him; and I will too, and I will reveal Myself to him.” Judas (not
Judas Iscariot, but his other disciple with that name) said to Him, “Sir, why
are you going to reveal yourself only to us disciples and not to the world at
large?” Jesus replied, “Because I will only reveal Myself to those who love Me
and obey Me. The Father will love them too, and we will come to them and live
with them. Anyone who doesn’t obey Me doesn’t love Me. And remember, I am not
making up this answer to your question! It is the answer given by the Father
who sent Me.” John 15v21-24 (TLB)
We
know that God loves us, and we bless Him for the wonderful love He has for us.
But do we love Him? How does God measure the love that we have for Him. From
the text above, we find that God says those who love Him are those who obey
Him. Wow! And Jesus Himself made it clear that it was the answer that was given
by the Father. Child of God, do you obey Him? Let us look at Jesus who is the
Author and Finisher of our faith as an example. Hebrews 5v7-9 (TLB) says “Yet
while Christ was here on earth He pleaded with God, praying with tears and
agony of soul to the only One who would save Him from premature death. And God
heard His prayers because of His strong desire to obey God at all times. And
even though Jesus was God’s Son, He had to learn from experience what it was
like to obey when obeying meant suffering. It was after He had proved Himself
perfect in this experience that Jesus became the Giver of all eternal salvation
to all those who obey Him.” We learn here therefore that obedience is not
always easy; it might include suffering. However, we can cry out to God to help
us to fulfill our desire to obey Him. Our Lord Jesus submitted His will to that
of the Father – but He also revealed to Him the way He was feeling about
things. This shows the importance of not fretting, worrying, complaining but
taking everything to the Lord in prayer.

He said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto Thee; take away this cup
from Me: nevertheless not what I will, but what Thou wilt.” Mark 14v36 (KJV)

Why
don’t you talk to the Lord as you feel led to.
