Blessed are the peacemakers (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually
prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation,
regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of
God!” Matthew 5v9 (AMP)
One category of people
that the Lord considers to be blessed are the peacemakers. Indeed the makers
and maintainers of peace shall be called the sons of God. One way of making and
maintaining peace is by spreading the Gospel of peace. Another way is through
prayer. Jeremiah 29v7 (KJV) says “And seek the peace of the city whither I have
caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in
the peace thereof shall ye have peace” while 1 Timothy 2v1-6 (AMP) says “First
of all, then, I admonish and
urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on
behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that
[outwardly] we may pass a quiet and
undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in
every way. For such [praying] is good and
right, and [it is] pleasing and
acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly]
to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and
correctly the [divine] Truth. For there [is only] one God, and [only] one
Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a
ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time.” Quite often, it is
easier to talk about what is going wrong in society and with government, but
acceptable unto the Lord is for us to pray for all men and for those in
authority, in order for us to live a quiet, undisturbed and peaceable life.
Prayer
Why don’t you take a
minute or more to pray for the peace of the society where you find yourself,
for all men and those in authority.
