Blessed are the peacemakers
Hello
everybody,
How are you doing
on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually
prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation,
regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of
God!” Matthew 5v9 (AMP)
Another category of
people who the Bible tells us are blessed are the peacemakers – those who make
peace and maintain peace. The Bible says these ones shall be called the sons of
God. It is very difficult to live and thrive in an environment – whether a
home, community or nation where there is no peace. The Bible lets us know that
for the wicked, there is no peace, but the Gospel is referred to as the Gospel
of peace. Jesus is called the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9v6), and one thing the
presence of the Lord brings is peace. We find repeatedly in the Scripture, the
greeting – Grace and peace be unto you from our Father and from our Lord Jesus
Christ (Ephesians 1v1; Galatians 1v3). Our God is indeed a God of peace and
those who make and maintain peace are called the sons of God. Do you make and
maintain peace? Hebrews 12v14 (AMP) says “Strive to live in peace with
everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will
[ever see the Lord].” One way we can make and maintain peace is actually to preach
the Gospel. Isaiah 52v7 (NIV) says “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those
who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to
Zion, “Your God reigns!” Indeed, by believing in the completed work of Christ on the Cross,
and accepting Him as their Lord and Saviour, men have peace with God. Moreover,
by continuing to encourage and exhort one another in the faith, we are
maintaining peace.
Prayer
Father,
I thank You for Your Word. I thank You for Your faithfulness. Father, help me
to be a peacemaker in Jesus name, amen.
