Wait for the Lord
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look
for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they
shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the
sun]: they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become
tired.” Isaiah 40v31 (AMP)
The ‘But’ that begins this verse suggests a
reference to a message before that. Indeed Isaiah 40v30 (AMP) says “Even youth
shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and
fall exhausted.” As we go about our daily lives and pursuits, there is a
tendency to grow weary, tired or fatigued. This weariness however is not
limited to our physical bodies alone but could encompass our spirits and as
well our souls. In other words, your spirit which is the real you becomes tired
and burnt out. Moreover, your mind, your emotions and your will could become
weary. A lot of factors could lead to this – a general discontent with life,
hardships, sorrow, disappointment, comparison to other people, hurt, bitterness
and so on. But the Lord tells us that there is strength for those who expect,
look for and hope in the Lord. It is a continual renewing and strength in the midst
of whatever we are going through to keep on keeping on, and doing it with great
joy. Psalm 27v14 (AMP) says “Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave
and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and
hope for and expect the Lord.” Are you getting weary and tired, it is time to
wait on the Lord, to seek His face, to set your face as a flint, holding on to
Him and as you do so, you will be strengthened in Jesus name, amen.
Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. Please strengthen
me as I wait for You in Jesus name, amen.
