The God who takes us on a beautiful journey
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day?
I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Not only is God the one who is always in
control and never taken unawares, He is also the one who takes us on a
beautiful journey of life, working in us something so pleasant and wonderful,
while at the same time conforming us to be like His Son Jesus. Indeed our walk with the Lord can be likened to a journey. We see men and
women of faith in scripture who went on a physical journey, from one place to
another. For example, Abraham was called from his family and his people to go
to another land; Jacob ran away from his brother and went to another land, and
then returned back; Joseph was sold from his own land and brought to Egypt; and
the children of Israel were brought out of Egypt to go to the land of Canaan.
We
are born and our journey through life starts, but spiritually as well, we
become new creatures and our walk with the Lord starts. Hebrews 12v1 (New
Living Translation) says “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge
crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that
slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run
with endurance the race God has set before us.”
The journey with the Lord is different from
how man views their journey through life. While people may seek to get a great
education, amass wealth, and gain influence, God is concerned about conforming
us to the image of His Son. He is seeking to bring to pass His plans for our
lives.

Corinthians 5v15-17 (The Living Bible) says “He died for all so that all who
live—having received eternal life from Him—might live no longer for themselves,
to please themselves, but to spend their lives pleasing Christ who died and
rose again for them. So stop evaluating Christians by what the world
thinks about them or by what they seem to be like on the outside. Once I
mistakenly thought of Christ that way, merely as a human being like myself. How
differently I feel now! When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a
brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” We
thank God then for this new life in Christ. May we live it and enjoy it as God
wants us to in Jesus name, amen.
Prayer
Father,
we thank You so much for Your Word. Thank You for all that You are to us.
Blessed be Your holy name forevermore. Father, we thank You for the new life in
Christ. Help us to see things through Your eyes – to see Your priorities and
what You want for us. Help us to truly live the life that You have called us to
in Jesus name, amen.
