Watch that Thought (8)
Hello everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, His grace, and His ways. Indeed His ways are not our ways,
neither are His thoughts our thoughts. Won’t it be totally
awesome to have just a glimpse of God’s present thought as He thinks
it. That would just be incredible. But through His Word, and through His
relationship with us, we do begin to see the way God sees things and understand
His point of view. For instance, the Bible tells us that: “For the rest, brethren, … if there is any virtue and
excellence,… think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your
minds on them].” Philippians 6v8 (AMP).
Excellent
things, things of virtue, we are encouraged to take account of and fix our
minds on them. The Bible tells us that: “Do not be conformed to this world
(this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs],
but be transformed (changed) by the renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and
its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and
acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable
and perfect [in His sight for you].” Romans 12v2 (AMP). We can let God change
the way we think, and see things. We can enable Him to work in us (Philippians
2v13), and conform us to the image of Christ through His Spirit (Romans 8v29, 2
Corinthians 3v18).
In
fact, the Bible tells us that we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2v16).
We think of Daniel and Joseph, they were men of excellence. The Bible tells us
that “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend”
(Proverbs 27v17), and “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion
of fools shall be destroyed” (Proverbs 13v20). Imagine walking with the wisest
and most holy person ever. Walk with the Lord. Read His Word. Go with God. Cultivate
a relationship with the Holy Spirit, and let God begin to transform
your thought process, helping you to think of things that are
excellent, and of virtue.
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for this day. Father I pray for a yearning, a desire and grace to
meditate on Your Word, and great meekness that I may be led in Your ways, in
Jesus name, amen.
