Be Strong (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope
well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“In conclusion, be
strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your
strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].”
Ephesians 6v10 (AMP)
How then does strength
come? How do we grow in strength as encouraged in 1 Corinthians 10v13 (AMP)
which says “… Act like men and
be courageous; grow in strength.” As believers, our strength comes from the
Lord and we are empowered through our union with Him. John 15v15 tells us that
apart from Christ we can do nothing. Indeed our God has boundless and unending
strength. Isaiah 40v28-31 (AMP) says “Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not
faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He
gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He
increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even
youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and
fall exhausted; But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope
in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they
shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up
to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or
become tired.” This scripture lets us know that even the young men will become
exhausted but those who wait for the Lord, who expect Him, look for and put
their hope in Him will have their strength renewed. When we are strengthened by
God, our spirits, our minds, our wills, our emotions are empowered; for we know
by experience that strength doesn’t come from food alone. There are those who
have lots to eat but do not have the will or the mind to work; their emotions
being so frayed that they cannot go on. Therefore God is able to provide the
strength that we need to keep going, keep trusting, to work, fulfill destiny,
and to fight the battles of life.
Supplementary Texts
“For this reason [seeing the greatness of
this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth
is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its
name]. May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be
strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy]
Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].” Ephesians
3v15-17 (AMP)
“I have strength for all things in Christ
Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses
inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].”
Philippians 4v13 (AMP)
“We are praying, too, that you will be
filled with his mighty, glorious strength so that you can keep going no matter
what happens—always full of the joy of the Lord,” Colossians 1v11 (TLB)
