Pleasing God

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. I read the other day this verse of scripture “…. You are My beloved Son; with You I am well pleased” (Luke 3v22, English Standard Version), and I thought, how can I also please the Lord. One thing that came to mind almost immediately was through my faith.

Hebrews 11v6 (Classic Amplified Version) says “But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” Faith is a fundamental way in which we please God. Through faith we acknowledge His existence and we walk with our invisible God. Hebrews 11v1-2 (The Message) says “The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.”

Through faith, we also access and receive the fulfillment of the promises of God. Hebrews 11v11-12 (Classic Amplified Version) says “It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep His promise. And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them.” Beloved, what promises are you holding onto? Remember that the surety and stability of faith is that it is based on the Word of God, and that Word can never ever fail. Habakkuk 2v3 (New Living Translation) says “This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.”

Prayer

Father, I thank You so much for Your Word. Thank You because through our faith we please You. Father we declare that we trust in You, we rely on You and we believe in You. We thank You because You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You. Thank You so much O God, in Jesus name, amen.
