The Builder of homes

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God because we have been drawn into the family of God, and His plan for families. Ephesians 3v14-15 (Classic Amplified Bible) “For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name].” Every family will have a father at his origin, but we see that God Himself is the One from whom fatherhood derives its name.

Now, when we look around us and at statistics, we find that generally, things are not right within families – there are high levels of divorce and separation, rebellion among children, selfishness between spouses e.t.c. But God who made marriages had a great plan for it and can help us to build our families in a way that will glorify Him, bring joy to us and be an example to those around us.

One scripture I hold onto is Psalm 127v1 (King James Version) which says “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Beloved, are you ready to allow the Lord to build your house, your home, your family, your marriage and all that pertains to you? Are you willing to trust in His Word and be guided according to His precepts?

So what then should we do? Romans 12v1-2 (The Message) says “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We lift up our families, our marriages and our homes before You as an offering. You are the One who builds all things. We give You full reins and control to be the Builder and Keeper of our families, marriages and homes. Teach us what to do, and how you would want us to relate in our relationships. Help us O God, for we have no other help but You. At the end of the day, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our families, marriages and homes and let all the glory be to You in Jesus name, amen.

  1. Amen.
And I learn there is a difference between divorce and [legal] separation.
    Thank you.
