Jesus – Our Propitiation

Dearly beloved. I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for making Jesus Christ our propitiation. Romans 3:23-26 (KJV) says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of Him which believeth in Jesus.

What does propitiation mean? It speaks to the fact that God is a righteous and holy God who cannot behold iniquity. Mankind haven sinned deserved to be punished, and so God sent Jesus to take the punishment for us. Bible study tools puts it this way “that by which God is rendered propitious, i.e., by which it becomes consistent with His character and government to pardon and bless the sinner. The propitiation does not procure His love or make Him loving; it only renders it consistent for Him to exercise His love towards sinners” (https://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/propitiation/). Hallelujah. Now we have redemption through Christ and are justified because we believe in Jesus.” Praise the Lord. Do you accept Christ’s propitiation today?

Prayer
Our Father, we thank You for You are holy and righteous and true; and a loving God. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Jesus to be our propitiation. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He is the Way to the Father. We thank You for making us the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. May we continue to glorify You in all we do in Jesus name, amen.
