Jesus – Our Propitiation (2)
Dearly beloved. I trust this finds you well and
bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for making Jesus Christ our propitiation. 1
John 2:1-2 (AMPC) says “My little children,
I write you these things so that you may not violate God’s law and sin.
But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us)
with the Father—[it is] Jesus Christ [the all] righteous [upright, just, Who
conforms to the Father’s will in every purpose, thought, and action]. And He [that same
Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and
not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.”
The Living Bible puts it this way “My little children, I am telling you this so that you will stay away
from sin. But if you sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father.
His name is Jesus Christ, the One who is all that is good and who
pleases God completely. He is the One who took God’s
wrath against our sins upon himself and brought us into fellowship with God;
and He is the forgiveness for our sins, and not only ours but all the
world’s.” This is
really good news.
Prayer
Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be our propitiation.
We thank You our Lord for Your constant prayer and intercession for us. We
yield and submit to You and pray that in all we do, You will be glorified.
