First pure

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His grace over our lives, His mercy and love for us. Now, the Bible tells us in James 1 that if any man lacks wisdom, he should ask of God who gives freely without upbraiding. The Bible also tells us in James 3 that there is a wisdom from above, and that there is also one that is from beneath. Perhaps, you have been in a situation where you are wondering what is the right way forward, how do I move on. Is this of God, or is it not of God. The first distinguishing character of the wisdom of God is purity, even as we see in James 3v17 that:

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;...” (NIV)
“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure...” (New Living Translation)
“But the wisdom that comes from God is first of all pure,...” (New Century Version)
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure,...” (King James Version)

Therefore, one infallible test to judging a direction, leading, or guidance you are getting is asking – is it pure? Does it promote purity? Some meanings of the word pure from the dictionary, are: containing nothing inappropriate or extraneous; chaste; free from anything of a different, inferior, or contaminating kind; without any discordant quality; clear and true. (www.dictionary.com). Those are some of the meanings of pure. The wisdom from God is as such, it is untainted, He gives it to you clear as things should be. He doesn’t mix the directions He is giving which vain philosophies. Pure wisdom, as pure water, is refreshing, you yourself will know that it is real. May the good Lord grant us the spirit of discernment to know between His wisdom, and that which is of the world in Jesus name, amen. And may we also seek to get wisdom from above, which is pure, in every area and situation of our lives in Jesus name, amen.

Have a very blessed day.
