Wisdom

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Two verses of scripture I have used to pray for myself and even others are from Proverbs 24v3-4: “Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24v3-4 (AMP). Beloved, we need wisdom for practically everything we do in life – in our homes, businesses, in relating with others, for working on projects and so on. Proverbs 14v1 (NIV) for example says “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”

Have you ever looked at someone and said this person is wise; but another and thought, that person did not act wisely. We need wisdom! Wisdom has been said to be the correct application of knowledge. Yes, you might have a piece of information or know-how, but what are you doing with it? A wise person fears the Lord, but the fool will say in his heart that there is no God! Proverbs 9v10 (AMP) says “The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.”

Now, there are different kinds of wisdom – the wisdom of this world (1 Corinthians 3:19), earthly/devilish wisdom (James 3v14-16) and wisdom from above. What are some of the characteristics of God’s wisdom? Well, James 3v17 (AMP) tells us that “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving; courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).” Are you in need of wisdom today? The wonderful thing is that we can ask God for it – in faith, not doubting, “For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom … He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); …” (Proverbs 1v6-7, AMP). James 1v5-8 (TLB) says “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him; He will not resent it. But when you ask Him, be sure that you really expect Him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind; and every decision you then make will be uncertain, as you turn first this way and then that. If you don’t ask with faith, don’t expect the Lord to give you a solid answer.”

Prayer
Why don’t you go ahead and ask the Almighty God by faith for wisdom.
