If God is for us …

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Again, we look at Romans 8v31 (New Living Translation) which poses two interesting questions: “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” If God is for us, indeed who can be against us? There are different things that can come against a person – spiritually, physically, emotionally e.t.c. But the Word of God is saying, “What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]” (Romans 8v31, Classic Amplified Version).

In the olden days, when a nation went to fight against another nation stronger than themselves, they would look for another nation or other nations that could be their allies, to increase the strength of their army and their chances of winning. Even today, we see countries constantly go into different types of agreements, once again to increase their strength. We therefore see regional alliances and integrations like the Economic Community of West African States, the European Union e.t.c. But the ultimate ally anyone could ever have is God. He is the King over all kings, and the Lord over all lords. He is the One who created the heavens, the earths and all that dwell within. The Bible tells us that “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright” (Psalm 20v7-8, King James Version).

Hebrews 13v5-6 (Classic Amplified Version) says “Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?” Praise the Lord. Beloved, if God is for you, who can be the foe to stand against you? None whatsoever. Remember, God is a very present help in time of trouble (Psalm 46v1) – call upon Him and see Him fight for you.

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for this day. We thank You because You are for us, helping us, defending, shielding us and keeping us. Thank You so much o God. We lean on You and depend on You in Jesus name, amen.
