Wonderful things ...
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this
day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Romans 8v31 (New Living Translation)
poses two interesting questions: “What shall we say about such wonderful things
as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” What are these
wonderful things? We see a glimpse of them in the preceding verses: “And we
know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are
fitting into His plans. For from the very beginning God decided that those who
came to Him—and all along He knew who would—should become like His Son, so that
His Son would be the First, with many brothers. And having chosen us, He
called us to come to Him; and when we came, He declared us “not guilty,” filled
us with Christ’s goodness, gave us right standing with Himself, and promised us
His glory” (Romans 8:28-30, The Living Bible).
These are wonderful things
indeed. For a person, who loves God, and is fitting into His plans (not our
own) to know that in good times, in bad times, all things are working together
for his or her good. There is inherent in this the assurance that God is in
control – always! We think of our Lord Jesus for example, the Author and
Finisher of our faith, He was misunderstood, He was despised, but there was a
plan in place that was being worked out. Isaiah 53v3-5 & 10-12 (New Living
Translation) say “He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows,
acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on Him and looked the other
way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses He
carried; it was our sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His
troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins! But He
was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could
be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed…. But it was the Lord’s
good plan to crush Him and cause Him grief. Yet when His life is made an
offering for sin, He will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long
life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in His hands. When He sees all that
is accomplished by His anguish, He will be satisfied. And because of His
experience, My righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted
righteous, for He will bear all their sins. I will give Him the honors of a
victorious soldier, because He exposed Himself to death. He was counted among
the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.
Child of God, who loves
God and is called according to His purpose, what are you going through that
seems so hard? Look at the wonderful things that were accomplished through the
life of Christ and know that God is also doing a wonderful thing in and through
you.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for
nothing catches You by surprise. You are the One who works all things according
to the counsel of Your will. Thank You for Jesus, the Author and the Finisher
of our faith. Thank You for we can look to Him as an example of how You work,
and work all things together for our good, because we love You and are called
according to Your purpose. O be glorified in our lives now and forevermore in
Jesus name, amen. Help us to stay secure and be rest assured in this truth
always and for all time. We love You, we need You, we can’t do without You. We
pray for those who do not know You, that You will send labourers to them in Jesus
name, amen.
