His hand of restrain
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling
in the Lord. We thank God for His hand upon us, His Spirit guiding us and convicting
us. Indeed we thank God for the restrictions that He keeps on us. We see in
Romans 1, situations where people resisted God and His ways and He gave them up
to do what they so desired. May this never be the case with us in Jesus name,
amen.
In verse 24, the Bible records “So God abandoned them to
do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile
and degrading things with each other’s bodies.” Why did God do this, the Bible
says “Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him
thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a
result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead
became utter fools. And instead of worshipping the glorious, ever-living God,
they worshipped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and
reptiles” (Romans 1v21-23, New Living Translation).
The Bible here is saying that God let the people do
whatever their hearts desired. He allowed them to do whatsoever they were
lusting to do in their hearts. How awful? However, what had they done? They
knew who God was, but refused to worship Him as God or glorify or acknowledge
Him. Next, they began to have vain speculations, almost like deciding how you
want to love God. Here, people began to become fools, though they thought they
were wise. Before long, the created things began to be served more than the
Creator. Beloved, let us beware when we begin to have our own interpretations
of who God is and what He would like us to be. Let us always acknowledge God
for who He is and be thankful to Him, and come to Him on His own terms as
revealed through His Word and by His Spirit.
