His Will
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day?
I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His great love toward
us. In our walk with God, it is important to know what He will have us do. Paul
prayed a beautiful prayer for the Colossians along these lines:
“For this cause we also, since
the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might
be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual
understanding;” Colossians 1v9 (King James Version)
“So we have not stopped praying
for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete
knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding”
Colossians 1v9 (New Living Translation)
“For this reason we also, from
the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request
for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear)
knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into
the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of
spiritual things—” Colossians 1v9 (Classic Amplified Bible)
“So ever since we first heard
about you we have kept on praying and asking God to help you understand what He
wants you to do; asking Him to make you wise about spiritual things;” Colossians
1v9 (The Living Bible)
“Be assured that from the first
day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you
wise minds and spirits attuned to His will, and so acquire a thorough
understanding of the ways in which God works.” Colossians 1v9 (The Message)
Sometimes, we are torn between
decisions of what is right, what is good, what to do. At the end of the day,
what truly matters is not what we think or feel, or what others say, but what
God determines is good and right. This scripture is a prayer that we will have
complete knowledge of God’s will and that He will give us understanding, wisdom
and discernment of spiritual things, even by His Spirit. That is beautiful
indeed.
Prayer
Why don’t you take sometime to pray for yourself,
that you will be filled with the complete knowledge of His will, that you will
know what He wants you to do, that you will have comprehensive insight into the
ways and purposes of God, and that you will have understanding and discernment
of spiritual things.
