His Will (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Colossians 1v9 (New Living Translation) says “So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.” As a church, and as individuals, it is very important that we are filled with complete knowledge of God’s will, and are knowledgeable of spiritual things.

As Paul prayed this prayer for the church in Collosse, we should also pray this continually for the church of God. Whenever we are uncomfortable about things happening in our local fellowships and the church of God at large, we can pray to God that Lord, let Your church help us to understand what You want us to do. The Amplified version puts it as “For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things—”

Verse 10 of Colossians 1 then says “Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better” (New Living Translation).

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for this day, we thank You for Your love for us. We thank You for all that You are to us. Father indeed we pray from Colossians 1v9 and 10 that You will help us and help Your church to understand what You want us to do; and to make us wise about spiritual things. We ask too that the way we live will always please You and honor You, so that we will always be doing good, kind things for others, while all the time you are learning to know God better and better. We ask all these things in Jesus name, amen.
