The Just Judge

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. The last two verses in Ecclesiastes say “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12v13-14, KJV). While God loves the world and doesn’t want anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance, there would come a time when He would judge every man’s work.

In Romans 2, the Word of God lets us know that God is not a respecter of persons, and that the way we have lived our lives will determine what He would recompense. Verses 5 to 11 (New Living Translation) say “But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will judge everyone according to what they have done.  He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. But He will pour out His anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness. There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.  But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.” As a child of God, these verses are encouraging, knowing that God sees our works, our love for Him and desire to please Him always. For those who refuse to turn for their sin though, then wrath is to be expected.

God has made a way for all to come to Him – and that way is Jesus. John 3v17 (King James Version) says “For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” Perhaps you have been dilly-dallying about whether or not you want to accept God’s plan of salvation – now is the day of salvation. As you are hearing, do not harden your heart. Just say to the Lord that you acknowledge that you are a sinner, that in the eyes of God you have done wrong, but you want His forgiveness and accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour.

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your great plan of salvation. Thank You for the love You have for us. Thank You because while we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, You are all the while at work in us giving us the willingness and ability to please You. We honour and glorify You for this in Jesus name, amen.
