A Study of Psalm 3 (9)

Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We have been looking at Psalm 3 over the past couple of days, and we continue doing so today. We focus on verse 4 which says “With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!” When we do our part in crying out to God, we are assured that He 1. Hears, and 2. Answers. How wonderful that is. My two-year-old is fond of calling Mummy, Mummy, even if she needs nothing in particular, and I answer her. God answers His children. John 5v14-15 (AMPC) says “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.” Hallelujah.

Furthermore, be encouraged by Matthew 7v7-11 (AMPC) which says “Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent? If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!” Amen.

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for all that You are to us. Thank You because we can come to You with every care that we have, because You care for us. Thank You for when we call to You, You hear and You answer. Thank You for not ignoring us but being mindful of us. It is a great privilege that we do not take for granted. Glory be to Your holy name forevermore, in Jesus name, amen.
