The face of love

21 October 2009 – The face of love

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His grace, His love, His mercy over our lives. Here is just a summation of what we looked at on love from 1 Corinthians 13.

Love is patient: Love bears provocation, annoyance, misfortune, delay, hardship, pain e.t.c. with fortitude and calm and without complaint, anger or the like
Love is kind – It could be as little as a smile, a pat on the back, an encouraging word, kindness. As one place put it, something to make the other person smile. It may not necessarily be convenient, but it would brighten their day.
Love is not envious: Envy can be very destructive, especially to the one who envies. Quit envying others. Instead determine the root of the problem, be sincere to God about what you are feeling and why, and ask Him to bless you and use you for His glory and keep you humble.
Love is not boastful – Does not vaunt itself
Love is not puffed up – Its not puffed up ☺
Love doth not behave itself unseemly – It is not rude, discourteous or impolite
Love is not self-seeking – Does not insist on its own right or its own way
Love is not easily provoked – It is not irritable, touchy, fretful or resentful and does not get upset with others☺
Love rejoiceth not in iniquity – For the most part, we may have thought that love is all about doing things and expressing particular acts of kindness, but it also involves not rejoicing at or taking pleasure in evil, iniquity, injustice or unrighteousness.
Love rejoiceth in the truth - It rejoices in Jesus and He magnified and what pleases Him
Love bears all things: … bears up under anything and everything that comes – both planned and unplanned, the kind and the rude, standing firm in the face of good and evil
Love believes all things: Believes the best of every person and trusts God always
Love hopeth all things: It looks forward to things with confidence and expectation
Love always endures: It bears with patience
Love never fails: It would never let you down!

Lord God Almighty, we thank You so much for the love You have for us and the love You have shed abroad in our hearts by Your Holy Spirit. We are grateful Lord. We pray that our love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment that we may be sincere and without offence, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Christ Jesus to the glory of God. Thank You so much for teaching us about love. May we always walk in Your love in Jesus name, amen.
