A light in the world

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We bless God for He is truly truly awesome. A great and mighty God He is. None can compare with Him. Our Rock, our Strength, Fortress and Redeemer.

Primary Text
“I wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate [closely and habitually] with unchaste [impure] people – Not [meaning of course that you must] altogether shun the immoral people of this world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society altogether!” 1 Corinthians 5v9-10 (AMP)

“When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that.” 1 Corinthians 5v9-10 (NLT)

Everyday, we meet people who do not believe in God and do not have Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. We relate and interact with them in our work places, at home, in school, almost everywhere. But the fact remains that we are in the world, and if we say we would not relate with those who do not know God, then we would have to leave the world completely. Sometimes they might not like you. But the Lord Jesus told us “If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection and would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world [no longer one with it], but I have chosen (selected) you out of the world, the world hates (detests) you.” John 15v18-19 (AMP). But that doesn’t matter, God loves them and has sent Jesus to die for the world (John 3v16). Moreover, we as believers are like God’s ambassadors on earth, asking the world to be reconciled to Him (2 Corinthians 5v20). “You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5v13-15, NLT).

Supplementary Text
“My prayer is not that You take them out of the world but that You protect them from the evil one.” John 17v15 (NIV)

Prayer
Father God, we thank You for Your Word this day. We thank You for the salvation of our souls. O God, we pray that You will send laborers to those who do not know You. We ask that we would be incurable soul winners and that we would indeed shine as lights in the world to the glory of Your name. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.
