Are you a just Lot?

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“The seed among the thorns represent those who listen and believe God’s words but whose faith afterwards is choked out by worries and riches and the responsibilities and pleasures of life. And so they are never able to help anyone else to believe the Good News.” Luke 8v13-14 (TLB)

I listened to a message recently on “the deep sorrow of the unconvinced.” And it basically spoke of Christians who after all is done would realize how much they could have done but didn’t do it i.e. they profess to be Christians but for various reasons like they are handling the Word of God deceitfully; they hear but don’t obey; they don’t allow the Word of God to be a reality to them; are still quite entangled with the world and so on, their lives have no impact. An example being “just” Lot, the nephew of Abraham who went to live in Sodom and Gomorrah. 2 Peter 2v7-8 (AMP) says “And He rescued righteous Lot, greatly worn out and distressed by the wanton ways of the ungodly and lawless – For that just man, living [there] among them, tortured his righteous soul every day with what he saw and heard of [their] unlawful and wicked deeds –“ (2 Peter 2v7-8, AMP). Abraham had interceded with God to the point that if God found 10 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, He would not destroy it (Genesis 18v32). But Lot could only bring out his two daughters and his wife; even his wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. Now, there might be various reasons why no one had come to believe as Lot did, but the question is are you impacting those around you? Can people see a difference in your life? Yes, like Lot, you might be wearied with all that is going on around and everything looks so hopeless you think you cannot make an impact, but remember we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5v7). Begin to believe God for souls around you. Begin to walk with God, in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and let His Word be a reality to you.

Supplementary Text
“Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.” 1 Peter 3v15 (NLT)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I repent for anyway I have not believed Your Word. And I pray that from now on the Word of God will be a reality to me and I will live a life that glorified You and draws people to You in Jesus name, amen.
