Ever ready to believe the best of every person

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy new month. I pray this be a blessed one for you and yours in Jesus name, amen.

Primary Text
“Love …. Is ever ready to believe the best of every person, …” 1 Corinthians 13v7 (AMP)

This verse tells us that love is ever ready to believe the best of every person. Sometimes we are too quick to believe the worst of others, to judge and to condemn them. On the other hand, we tend to be more lenient with ourselves because we know where we are at, where we are coming from, what might have spurred us to act or react in the way that we did. We are also more apt to realize that God is merciful to us and kind to us because He knows us and He is walking with us. But the Bible tells us to love our neighbours as ourselves. What if we begin to love our neighbours the way we love ourselves – give them a bit more leeway, and try to understand where they are coming from. What if we begin to see people the way God sees them – as His children who He is walking with, working in and has great plans. What if we decide to see one another as brothers and sisters, and seek the best for each other? As someone once told me, why don’t we try to focus on the good in people? Because sometimes, it is easy to mull over the one bad thing they have done to you instead of the many good they have done over the years. 1 Thessalonians 5v14 (TLB) says “Most of all, let love guide your life, for then the whole church will stay together in perfect harmony.”

Supplementary Text
“Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ.” Ephesians 4v31-32 (TLB)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for the body of Christ. I thank You for Your Word this day and I pray that love will always guide my life. I put off malice and bad feeling towards others and put on Christ in Jesus name, amen.
