From the Beginning

Primary Text

“In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.” John 1v1-3 (AMP)

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the Word of God, He is the Son of God, He is the second Person in the Trinity, He is God. He existed with God from the very beginning. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. One of the great implications of this is that God Himself came down to earth, took on human nature, and died for mankind so that we can be reconciled to Him. Without Jesus, nothing that was created could have been created: “For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions; rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together)” (Colossians 1v16-17, AMP). Therefore it becomes even more amazing that many may say they believe in God but not in Jesus. John 1v10 (KJV) says “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.” But we thank God because we know the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Prayer

Father we thank You and we bless Your holy name. We thank You for the salvation of our souls and we thank You for us being alive today. Indeed we recognize that from You and through You and for You are all things and to You be the glory forever, amen.
