Our Sustenance

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.” John 1v1-3 (AMP)

We thank God because this is the day that He has made and we can rejoice and be glad in it. We thank God for the breath of life, for limbs that work, eyes that see, organs that are functioning properly. Have you ever wondered how it is that your system automatically knows to take air in and then breathe it out? Even when you have a cold and your nose is blocked, you are still able to go to bed and continue breathing. Have you ever wondered how each animal automatically knows how to fend for itself, to procreate, to migrate from place to place if necessary and to take on the distinct characteristics that make it so? Who teaches the animals, and heavenly and water bodies how to function? Indeed, the Bible tells us that not only did God create all things through our Lord Jesus Christ, but through Him, all things consist – that is are held together and continue functioning: Colossians 1v16-17 (AMP)  “For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions; rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).” We bless God for the awesomeness of the God whom we serve.

Prayer

Our Father and our God we worship You. We lift up Your holy name and say You are good. Blessed be Your holy name. Thank You for the breath of life. Thank You for the wonders of Your creation. Thank You for everlasting life. Thank You for through You everything in the world is being held together and has not fallen apart. We worship and lift up Your holy name. We commit our times and days into Your hands O Lord, declaring that our lives belong to You and acknowledge You for how You have kept us thus far. Continue to have Your way in our lives, let Your will be done in and through us and Your name alone be glorified in Jesus name, amen.
