Words of Warfare

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“In the beginning was the Word …” John 1v1 (KJV)

One of the things the Word of God helps us with is spiritual warfare. Hebrews 4v12 tells us that the Word of God is quick, powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. Ephesians 6v17 makes us to realize that the Sword of the Spirit is actually the Word of God, and it is one part of the armour of the Christian. Our Lord Jesus gave us the perfect example of how to use the Word of God to fight when we are facing our adversary the devil. “And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God…” Matthew 4v3-7, KJV). In the same manner, whenever we face contrary situations – temptations, trials, attacks on our health, mind, emotions, will, finances, children, marriage, education – we can combat it with the Word of God. The Word of God is true and irrefutable that’s why it can stand up against any lie of the enemy. In the same vein it means we need to know the Word for ourselves. The devil knows scripture and can contort hem for his own purpose as we see he did for our Lord Jesus and for Eve. We need to know the truth for ourselves, as it is written “And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free” (John 8v32, AMP).

Prayer
Father we thank You for Your Word. We pray that we would indeed know the Truth and be set free in every area of our lives in Jesus name, amen.
