On Giving!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6v38 (KJV)
“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” Luke 6v38 (NLT)
It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20v35). When we give, it not only allows needs to be met, but it also allows thanksgiving to be offered to God, especially if they are given to those who have the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 9v12). However, when we even give to those who do not know God, sometimes they may end up giving glory to God – even as we see that “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5v16. Remember, the measure with which you give, is the measure with which you will receive. 2 Corinthians 9v5-8 (NLT) also exhorts us saying “So I thought I should send these brothers ahead of me to make sure the gift you promised is ready. But I want it to be a willing gift, not one given grudgingly. Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”
Supplementary Texts
“There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want. The liberal person shall be enriched, and he who waters shall himself be watered.” Proverbs 11v24-25 (AMP)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word this day. Father, we pray for the grace to give - to give to the body of Christ and to others. We thank You because You are able to make all grace abound toward us so that we will always have everything we need and plenty left over to share with others. Above all, we pray that we give in love, for without love, it profits us nothing to give. Thank You Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
