Shine as Lights (2)

Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for another day which He has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. We continue looking at how we as believers are a light in this world. Philippians 2:14-16 (NLT) says “Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.” As believers, we hold onto the word of life, and we also show this word of life to the world. Indeed, we are God’s ambassador.

 

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 NLT says “But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?” We have a fragrance around us that rises to God, and is spread everywhere - to those who are saved and those who aren’t. We are indeed the light of the world.” Child of God, you are indeed a child of God and our lives should reflect that. We thank God because He continually gives us the enablement and empowerment to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Hallelujah.

 

Prayer

Father, we glorify Your name. We thank You for we are lights in the world. We pray that we would live lives of thanksgiving, without grumbling and complaining, and that these lives will bring glory to Your name, in Jesus name, amen. We pray that we will truly be ambassadors of God and the Word of life in Jesus name, amen.
