How are you getting along?

Dearly beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. Philippians 2v18 (NLT) says “If the Lord Jesus is willing, I hope to send Timothy to you soon for a visit. Then he can cheer me up by telling me how you are getting along.” Child of God, how are you getting along? How are you getting along - in your faith, in life, with your family, in your job etc. God cares about how you are getting along. 3 John 1v2-4 (NIV) says “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

Indeed, it brings great joy to God and others who care about you when they know you are getting along well – in your spirit, soul and body. When a child of God is faithful to God, to His truth and walks with God, all will be well and that is a thing of joy. Now, walking with God doesn’t mean all will be rosy. In fact, because you are in the world there will be trials. But Jesus has overcome the world for you. Also, because you want to live a godly life, you will suffer persecution - but hold onto God and His Word. 2 Timothy 3:12-17 NIV says “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Again, be encouraged from John 16:33 (AMPC) which says “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”
