Jesus – Our Example in Humility

 Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. I pray this month of September will be a fulfilling one for you and yours in Jesus name, amen. Jesus is our example and motivation in humility. He Himself told us in Matthew 11v29 (NIV) that “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Because Jesus humbled Himself in the sight of God, God highly exalted Him. Child of God, God is not a respecter of persons. He does what He says, and He can be trusted. If He advises you to be humble, be humble. Humility is reflected in our acceptance of what God says and doing it. For example, if He says, vengeance is mine, I will repay, then do not act in vengeance. Wait on God to fight for you.

 

Philippians 2v5-11 (NIV) says “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;  rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Amen. May we indeed look up to Jesus and learn from Him, and find rest for our souls in Jesus name, amen.

 

 

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for this day. We thank You for Your goodness and Your grace. We thank You because You honour the humble. We bow before You, acknowledging You and declaring that You are our God. May we truly exhibit humility in all our ways in Jesus name, amen.
