The Word of Life

Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His Word which He has given to us. Philippians 2v14 encourages us to “Hold firmly to the word of life...”. God’s Word represents His truth. In John 17v14-17 (AMPC) Jesus said “I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world. Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.” Through the Word of God, we are consecrated and set apart because we follow the Word and what the Word says is different from what the world dictates. Hallelujah.

Romans 12:1-2 (AMPC) encourages us by saying “I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” We can renew our mind through the Word of God because God’s Word shows us what He wants. God’s Word is God Himself as we see in John 1v1-5 (AMPC) - “IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6.] He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].” Let us hold onto God. Let us hold onto His Word and be continually changed by it.

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. We pray for grace to dig in and meditate on Your Word always, that we may be transformed by the renewing of our mind and shine as lights in the world and be ambassadors for You in Jesus name, amen.
