Word of Life (5)
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His Word which He has given to us. Philippians 2v14 encourages us to “Hold firmly to the word of life...”. We find that holding onto the Word of Life and living according to it, brings good success. Let us consider some verses of scripture. In Joshua 1v8 (AMPC), the Lord told Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” In the Word of Life, we find wisdom, even as Proverbs 2v6 (AMPC) says “For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity.” Proverbs 24v3-4 (AMPC) then goes on to say “Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house [a life, a home, a family] built, and by understanding it is established [on a solid and good foundation], And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
As
believers, we should meditate on the Word of God. Psalm 1 (AMPC) considers the
man that meditates on the Word of God. It tells us “Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the
things of God. But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and
day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to
follow him more closely. They are like trees along
a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall
never wither, and all they do shall prosper. But for sinners, what a different story! They
blow away like chaff before the wind. They are not safe on Judgment Day;
they shall not stand among the godly. For the Lord watches over all the plans and
paths of godly men, but the paths of the godless lead to doom.”
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your
Word. We pray for grace to dig in and meditate on Your Word always, that we may be transformed by the renewing of our mind and shine as lights in the world and be ambassadors for You in
Jesus name, amen.
