Come up Higher

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His lovingkindness towards us, and His tender care for us. We thank Him also because we can grow deeper in our relationship with Him.
Primary Text:
“Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under His feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in His clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel He laid not His hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink. And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to Me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them. And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.” Exodus 24v9-15
Here Moses, was called by God to come up to Him, while Moses told the others to tarry. In the New Testament, we see Jesus take Peter, James, and his brother John, and bring them up into an high mountain apart, where He was transfigured before them (Matthew 17v1&2). We know God made known His ways to Moses, and His acts to the children of Israel (Psalm 103v7). In Genesis 18v17-19, God asked a question “Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment, that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him.” And in 2 Chronicles 20v7, Isaiah 41v8, and James 2v23, Abraham was referred to as a friend of God. Those who are God’s friends, are those who do what He commands them. And God reveals things to His friends. I want to be a friend of God forever. I want to be called apart and told things. What about you?

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you.” John 15v14-16
“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” James 2v23

Father in the name of Jesus, I thank You for Your Word. Father, call me apart. Speak to me. I want to be Your friend forever. The grace to believe and obey You please grant unto me in Jesus name, amen.
