Being a blessing!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless – that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing.” 1 Peter 3v9 (MSG)

“Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God – that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].” 1 Peter 3v9 (AMP)

“Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and He will bless you for it.” 1 Peter 3v9 (NLT)

You have probably heard it said, or perhaps said it yourself that – if not for Jesus, I would have shown him or her. Isaiah 55v8&9 tells us that “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” God’s prescription for us in responding to evil, is to do good. Romans 12v21 (AMP) telling us “Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good.” His requirement for insults, is blessing. The Bible actually telling us we have been called to do this, and that God will bless you for it. When about to respond to those who do evil to you and insult you, pause and ensure that it is a good response and a blessing.

Supplementary Text
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of Your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5v44-48 (KJV)
Father, I thank You for Your Word and Your ways. Thank You for calling us to be a blessing to others and to receive a blessing. May Your name continued to be glorified in our lives in Jesus name, amen.
