A Sure Word!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the
Lord. Happy Monday….
Primary Text
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; …” 2 Peter
1v19 (KJV)
“Because of that experience, we have even greater
confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. ….” 2 Peter 1v19 (NLT)
The Dakes Concordance comments that “We have a more sure
word of prophecy than the oracles of heathen priests who fake messages from
their idol gods.” The disciples got to see and experience, and touch and feel
what the prophets had written about. We are living in the grace that the
prophets spoke about. Indeed, we have a sure word of prophecy. 1 Peter 1v8-11
(NIV) says “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do
not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and
glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation
of your souls. Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace
that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying
to find out the time and circumstance with which the Spirit of Christ in them
was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories
that would follow.” For the disciples and for us as well, it is wonderful to
see Scripture being played out. Indeed, God’s Word is true, and endures
forever. Isaiah 55v11 (AMP) says “So shall My word be that goes forth out of My
mouth: it shall not return unto me void [without producing any effect,
useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent
it.” One sure word of prophesy that was revealed a long time ago and which we
see today goes:

Text
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of
Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon
the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it
with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the
LORD of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9v6-7 (KJV)
Prayer
Father we thank You. Thank You for we have a more sure
word of prophesy. Thank You for Your Word does not and cannot fail, in Jesus
name, amen.
