Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the
Lord.
Primary Text
“For we were not following cleverly devised stories when
we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah),
but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty (grandeur, authority of sovereign
power). For when He was invested with honor and glory from God the Father and a
voice was borne to Him by the [splendid] Majestic Glory [in the bright cloud
that overshadowed Him, saying], This is My beloved Son in Whom I am well
pleased and delight, We [actually]
heard this voice borne out of heaven, for we were together with Him on the holy
mountain.” 2 Peter 1v16-18 (AMP)
Matthew 17v1-7 (KJV) records that “And after six days
Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an
high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and His face did shine
as the sun, and His raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared
unto them Moses and Elias talking with Him. Then answered Peter, and said unto
Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if Thou wilt, let us make here three
tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet
spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the
cloud, which said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye
Him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore
afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.”
Hallelujah. The apostle Peter, along with James and John were witnesses to this
incident, and of which Peter refers to in 2 Peter 1v17-18. God the Father
Himself gave His approval of Jesus. In John 8v17-18 (AMP), Jesus says “In your
[own] Law it is written that the testimony (evidence) of two persons is
reliable and viable. I am One [of the
Two] bearing testimony concerning Myself; and My Father, Who sent Me, He also
testifies about Me.” (John 8v17-18, KJV). What does the Lord say about you?
John 5v44 (KJV) says “How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another,
and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?”
Supplementary
Text
“But I have a greater witness than that of John: for the
works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear
witness of me, that the Father hath sent Me. And the Father Himself, which hath
sent Me, hath borne witness of Me. Ye have neither heard His voice at any time,
nor seen His shape.” John 5v36-37 (KJV)
