Diligence Pays
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the
slothful shall be under tribute.” Proverbs 12v24
Some synonyms for diligent include hard-working,
industrious, assiduous, painstaking, meticulous, attentive, conscientious and
thorough. Have you ever wondered why those who are hard working are usually
given more things to do? You may be wondering, but they already have so much,
why is more still being given to them? Check their lifestyles. It may be that
they are very diligent in the work that they do and if you are truthful to
yourself, you will say that is the sort of person you want to work with you. Proverbs
22v29 (TLB) says “Do you know a hard-working man? He shall be successful and
stand before kings!” while Ecclesiastes 9v10 (NLT) says “Whatever your hand
finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or device or
knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the place of the dead), where you are going.” So,
when you are doing any work, just ask – have I given it my best? Will I be the
type of person someone would want to work with?
Prayer
Dearest Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for
Your word which we have heard this day. We thank You for the ability to work,
and for all our senses being still intact. We thank You for the strength,
guidance and motivation even to do work. We give You all the glory in
Jesus name. Father we ask that in time past if we have been slothful with the
work given to us, please forgive us in Jesus name, amen. We ask that You
restore opportunities that we may have lost due to being slothful, in the name of
Jesus. We pray for the grace to be diligent in all our affairs and in the work
of our hands, so that You might be confident to give us more to do, and will
make us stand before kings and not mean men. Thank You so much Eternal Rock of
Ages. Indeed in You we live and move and have our being. May Your name and Your
name alone always be glorified in our lives in Jesus name, amen.
