The Infallible Word of God
Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary
Text
“And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to
which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. [Yet]
first [you must] understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is [a matter]
of any personal or private or special interpretation (loosening,
solving). For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it
[to do so—it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were
borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1v19-21 (AMP)
Beloved, now more than ever before, it is important
that we pay close attention to the Word of God and keep gazing on it. The Bible
is the Word of God and it is God speaking to you. Psalm 119v105 (KJV) says “Thy
word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Have you ever had to
study/work late into the night, or keep awake overnight, with just a lamp on or
a candle, and slowly time passes 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am, and before you know
it, dawn begins to come, and light begins to seep in? The imagery given in 2
Peter 1v19 speaks of something similar, saying that the sure word of prophesy
is something we should keep paying attention to as a lamp shining in a dark
place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in our hearts. The radiant
and brilliant Morning Star is none other than our Lord Jesus Christ. The world
is a dark place spiritually, where the Word of God looks just like a small
light in the midst of the darkness. We must pay attention to the Word and keep
our gaze so focused on it regardless of the world’s many philosophies,
rationales, ideologies and knowledge. On the other hand if personally you find
yourself in a dark place in your life – pay attention to the Word of God, give
close heed unto it, until that light and revelation comes and your faith stays
unshakeable.
Prayer
Father we thank You for Your Word this day. We pray
that You will give unto us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may
know You better. Grant us the grace to dig deep into Your Word and to grow in
our relationship with You in Jesus name, amen.
