Beyond head knowledge
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope
well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“and may you be able to feel and
understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how
high His love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it
is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand
it. And so at last you will be filled up with God Himself.” Ephesians 3v18-19
(TLB)
There is great value for believers to
meditate on the Word of God. Many times, we are pondering and thinking and
worrying about things that are not true, pure, lovely, of good report, and
praise worthy as we are encouraged to do in Philippians 4v8. The Bible lets us
know that grace and peace is multiplied unto us as we grow in the knowledge of
God. It is one thing to be able to roll out scriptures, but another to really
have a revelation of what the scriptures mean, for them to develop an
unshakeable faith in you. There is also the experience of truly knowing God.
For example you know that God loves you but have you walked in the knowledge of
that and be able to truly boast that you know the love of God? Ephesians
3v17-19 (AMP) says “May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down,
abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love
and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to
apprehend and grasp with all saints (God’s devoted people, the experience of
that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That
you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves]
the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience];
that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God
[may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly
filled and flooded with God Himself]!”
Prayer
Father we thank You for Your Word. We
pray for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. We pray
that we would truly come to know You, and be deeply rooted in love and
experience the love of Christ in Jesus name, amen.
