Let patience grow
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this
day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“You must be patient. After
you have done what God wants, you will get what He has promised you.” Hebrews
10v36 (ERV)
Many times we want things
done NOW. But our God is faithful, and reminds us that “He has made every thing
beautiful in his time…” (Ecclesiastes 3v11). There is a work that patience does
in our lives, to make us “ready for anything, strong in character, full and
complete” (James 1v4, TLB). James 1v2-4 (TLB) says “Dear brothers, is your life
full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, for when the way is rough,
your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out
of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you
will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.” The
Amplified puts it this way “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever
you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various
temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith
bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and
steadfastness and patience have a full play and do a thorough work, so that you
may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.”
Imagine a life where everything is easy going, without challenges? How would
your faith and character grow? How would you become more sensitive to the needs
and issues of those who surround you? How would you learn to depend on God and
wait on Him, and understand what He requires of you? What then do we do when we
while our patience is being worked on? When we are facing challenges that we
want to wriggle out of? Ask the Lord. “If you want to know what God wants you
to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for He is always ready to give a
bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him; He will not resent it.” James
1v5 (TLB)
Prayer
Are you in need of patience?
Are you in need of wisdom for what to do as your patience grows? Why not ask
the Lord today….
