Perfect and Constant Peace
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“You
will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose
mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he
commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.”
Isaiah 26v3 (AMP)
Our minds can be
stayed on a lot of different things – news, issues, problems, challenges… or on
God. Our minds can be cheerful, settled, calm, undisturbed,
applied to instruction, understanding, peaceful or wayward, double-minded,
deluded, evil-minded or crooked. But when our minds are stayed on God, we enjoy
perfect and constant state peace. Our mind
is stayed on God because we trust in God and commit ourselves to Him. In this
sense, whenever a situation arises, our first inclination is God. We are not
perturbed by the news, what we see or do not see, but we walk in a state of
confident assurance and faith in God. Philippians 4v6-7 (AMP) says “Do not fret
or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in
everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving,
continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that
tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so
fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever
sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and
mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Is your mind stayed on
God? Are you trusting in Him? Let’s begin to do that so we might enjoy a state
of perfect and constant peace in God.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. Please give us the grace to trust in
You absolutely, and to keep our minds stayed on You in Jesus name, amen.
