Faith not Sight!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope
well and bubbling in the Lord.

“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
2 Corinthians 5v7 (KJV)
When we pray to God, we need to have
faith. Faith is “the confident assurance that something we want is going to
happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though
we cannot see it up ahead” (Hebrews 11v1, TLB). One day Jesus cursed a fig tree
and continued on His way. In the morning as He and His disciples passed by they
noticed the fig tree had dried up from the roots. Mark 11v21-22 (KJV) says, “And
Peter calling to remembrance saith unto Him, Master, behold, the fig tree which
Thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith
in God.” That we walk by faith and not by sight is becoming more of a reality
to me – that is faith is believing that as you have prayed to God, He has heard
you, and He is answering you. For example, I had to lead a prayer session
recently and at the beginning of it, we prayed for God to reign in the session
and let us pray what He has on His heart. And by the grace of God and through
faith and communing with God as to what to pray next, I could see God taking us
through the time second by second, minute by minute; sending prayer points to
us through our leader. At times the thought will pass of what do we pray about
next, but I was encouraged to stay calm and believe that God will see us
through; and the session went very well. The same with us, when we have prayed
or are praying to God about something, we are not to be moved or disturbed by
what we are seeing or feeling at that moment, but to believe God that He has
heard and is hearing and He will bring us to that expected end or desire of
which we are asking Him for. It is continuing to press on in that deed, and not
give up. It’s like David running towards his Goliath, knowing that God will
give him the victory; or the Israelites continuing to take each step in the Red
Sea, knowing that it will not come crashing down on them. It is pressing on
with God and not looking at other alternatives, “in case this doesn’t work” but
believing that God is and continues to be a Rewarder of those who diligently
seek Him (Hebrews 11v6).
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your
Word. We thank You because You are dependable and we have this confident
assurance that if we pray in accordance to Your will, we know You hear us, and
if we know You hear us, we know that we have that which we have requested of
You. Thank You for Your faithfulness. All this we pray in Jesus name, amen.
