Search me O God (2)
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my
thoughts. Point out anything You find in me that makes You sad, and lead me
along the path of everlasting life.” Psalm 139v23-24 (TLB)
“Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any wicked or hurtful
way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalm 139v23-24 (AMP)
“God, examine me and know my mind.
Test me and know all my worries. Make sure that I am not going the wrong way.
Lead me on the path that has always been right.” Psalm 139v23-24 (ERV)
We
need the true Light of God to be able to know what God views as good and bad.
If we rely on our own selves we might score ourselves differently from how God
scores us. One of the ways in which we receive this light is through our
encounter and relationship with Jesus. John 1v1-9 (KJV) says “In the beginning
was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in
the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not
any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of
men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehendeth it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a
witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe.
He was not that Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”
Indeed Jesus is the true Light. An encounter with Him changes your perspective
on things. He is the Light of the world, and because of Him we become the light
of the world as well. John 3 tells us of how Jesus came into the world, not to
judge us but to save us. Verses 17-21 (KJV) say “For God sent not His Son into
the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but He that believeth not is
condemned already, because He hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light,
lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
that his deeds may be made manifest, that they were wrought in God.” Beloved,
are you running from the Light or to the Light today?
