Even the wind and the sea obey Him
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Fear
not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in
terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to
difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with
My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.” Isaiah 41v10 (AMP)
What
is fear? I have heard it say it is false evidence appearing real. Synonyms for
fear include terror, dread, trepidation, horror, worry, concern, and
apprehension. One thing God does not want His children to be is to fear. One
reason God tells us not to be afraid, is because He is with us. God being with
us doesn’t mean the absence of troubles, trials, conflicts … but it means
because He is with us, we are assured of success and victory, and can have joy
through the process. In Mark 4, after Jesus told the disciples, let us go over
to the other side, a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the
boat and it was almost full. Jesus was asleep and the disciples woke Him up
with, “Master carest Thou not that we perish?” Mark 4v39-41 (KJV) says “And He
arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the
wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so
fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said
one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey
Him?” The Amplified says “And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the
sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if
exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect
peacefulness). He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful? How is it
that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust? And they were filled with
great awe and feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who then is this,
that even wind and sea obey Him?” Beloved, even the wind and the sea obey Him.
What storm is it that is threatening your existence, your life, your soul, your
peace, your destiny, your joy? Even the wind and the sea obey Him. He is the
God of all flesh, the Creator of Heaven and earth, the One who made all things,
all things obey Him. At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every
tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father! By
Jesus all things were created, and have their existence because of Him, and you
are His – so why are you afraid? Fear not! Even the wind and the sea obey Him.
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word this day. Thank You because You are with us and we
have the assurance of Your presence. We speak peace to every threatening storm
right now in Jesus name, amen. Thank You Most High God in Jesus name we pray,
amen.
